Effective 17 July 2026
This policy explains what personal information States Agent collects, how we use it, and who we share it with.
Account details you give us (name, email, password), the company and filing information you enter to place an order, records of your orders and documents, and, for beneficial-ownership filings, the identifying information and identity documents the filing requires. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment provider, not by us.
To create and secure your account, to provide and fulfil the services you order, to keep your companies in good standing, to communicate with you about your account, and to meet legal and record-keeping obligations.
Our third-party fulfilment provider, to carry out filings and act as agent. Our payment processor, to take payment. Our infrastructure and authentication provider, to store your account data. Government agencies, where a filing or law requires it. We do not sell your personal information, and our providers are contractually bound to keep it confidential and use it only to deliver the services.
Identity documents you provide for a beneficial-ownership (Corporate Transparency Act) filing are transmitted securely, encrypted at rest, and deleted after the retention period needed to complete the filing (approximately 90 days).
Your account data is held by our authentication and database provider with access controls that restrict each customer to their own records. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure.
We keep account and filing records for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to meet legal, tax, and compliance obligations after it closes.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including to know what personal information we hold, to request access or deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We act as a service provider for the data you entrust to us and do not sell it. To exercise a right, email support@statesagent.com.
You can view and update your name and password in account settings, and request access to or deletion of your personal information by emailing us, subject to records we are required to keep.
